Hydrogen Uptake and Diffusion Lab

The Hydrogen uptake and diffusion lab contains a various of hydrogen studying equipment, including a potentiostat hub enabling 10 samples charging at the same, TDS to study the hydrogen content, and permeation cell to obtain the hydrogen diffusivity.

Electrochemical hydrogen charging

With the potentiostat hub from Gamry, electrochemical hydrogen charging can be achieved in our lab with a multi-choice of electrolyte type and sample size.

Potensiostat hub
Thermal Desorption Spectrometry

The Thermal Desorption Spectrometry (TDS) in our lab enables the measurement of hydrogen content in metals and the result can be used to study the hydrogen trapping behavior.

Hydrogen permeation test

A homemade double wall permeation cell integrated with temperature controller is available in our lab. It can precisely measure the hydrogen diffusion coefficient for both BCC and FCC structured materials under a controlled temperature.
